About Donna

Donna and her husband Bill just published their first book Hope for an Unwanted Journey. It is a 24-week devotional with a weekly focus on something God taught them while walking through the valley of additions/mental illness with their son. It can be a very lonely journey and gut-wrenchingly painful We have attempted to be candid about our experience and the lessons that God taught us on our journey. Our prayer is that our readers will find that same hope and renewed faith.

Confessions of a Not-So-Average Girl is Donna's first book. She received an Award of Merit for General Readership by the Christian Writers Guild of Canada. It was also shortlisted in the Youth Readership section as well. There is a companion guide which is co-authored with Melodie Bissell, entitled "Not Beyond Our Reach".

Her second book Confessions of an Unlikely Pastors Wife was released in November 2015. This book describes the lessons learned over 32 years of ministry. There are also many stories that will inspire faith in the heart of the reader.

Donna’s deepest desire is to see shattered lives restored through the power of Jesus Christ.  She and her husband, Bill are privileged to be living out this passion in the urban core.  They have been serving as the lead pastoral couple at Toronto Alliance Church for 28 years.  Their ministry is focused on restoring broken lives among the poor, newcomers to Canada, at-risk children and youth, and those struggling with addictions.  Donna has extensive experience leading ministries that touch these people deeply, drawing them to wholeness. She has spoken at women’s retreats, conferences, and seminars.  She speaks passionately, using humor to communicate God’s Word and her life story effectively. God continues to use Donna’s communication skills to press her audience beyond the status quo into risky servanthood and authentic faith.

Donna lives in downtown Toronto, Canada with her husband, Bill. She is the mother of four beautiful adult children and three in-law children and an Oma to six granddaughters and three grandsons. She works with Christians Against Poverty (CAP) in partnership with Toronto Alliance Church, helping families and individuals in financial crisis.
